Project Para Japon Online
After a 9-magnitude earthquake and the following tsunami caused unprecedented devastation in Japan on May 11, 2011, the cigar community is very active online with a charity project called “Para Japon”, a cigar for Japan. Under the lead of La Aurora Cigar Factory’s Guillermo Leon together with Mario Takeyama and Dan Reeve from the design team of CigarExplorer.com, it was quickly decided to release a charity cigar. The proceeds from the sales of this cigar will be donated to help the humanitarian response to this disaster in Japan.
According to the press release, the cigar named “Para Japón” or “For Japan” is a 5″ x 50, medium to full bodied vitola, made with selected premium tobacco leaves. These cigars have been aged during three years and its blend is something really unique with an exquisite Nicaraguan wrapper.
Recently the Project Para Japon also is online with a nicely designed website featuring the latest updates of this very kind project. And of course, the cigar community is also making good use of Twitter with many daily news related to the cigar from American based cigar smokers and from project team members as well.
